Andrea Nathanson, Executive Director

Andrea Nathanson is a co-founder of Qualicare and is responsible for all healthcare services. She is a Registered Nurse with over 25 years experience in both medical and social healthcare.

Andrea worked in several different hospital environments in Canada and during the late 1980's she worked as a community care nurse. In addition she held various roles in occupational health care. Andrea specializes in palliative hospice care advocating for the needs of patients and family members that are faced with terminal illness, death and bereavement.

Andrea's experience has developed her passion and given her a unique perspective of the issues that people face when dealing with long term or complex care situations. She has liaised with many physicians, hospitals, community support services, and private operators. Andrea is gifted with the ability to make a positive difference in people’s lives, when they are faced with a challenging medical event.

It was Andrea’s vision of the importance of care continuity and the value of coordinated healthcare which led to the formation of Qualicare in 2001. Andrea is married to Wayne and has two teen-aged children.

Wayne Nathanson, President

Wayne is a co-founder and owner of Qualicare and is responsible for business operations, including financial management and planning as well as corporate business development. He is also responsible for creating and developing relationships with other vendors and service providers that complement Qualicare’s effort to provide the best possible care.

Wayne has over 25 years experience in business management and development. He has extensive experience selling directly to customers, building indirect distribution channels and establishing corporate strategic alliances.

Prior to joining Qualicare, Wayne held executive positions for various technology companies in Canada and the United States. He was instrumental in establishing and growing these companies and helped formulate their strategies. In addition, he was responsible for entering and developing new markets, worldwide.

Wayne has also held senior management positions in large corporations including IBM and Unisys. He was a General Manager, Sales for Unisys Canada Inc. and was with IBM Canada Limited for over 13 years, where he held a variety of positions including his last as Regional Operations Manager, Atlantic Canada.
